Resuming Transmission with Jassim Boodai Video

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Kuwait2005 is glad to announce the resumption of transmission.

If you read Sunday's newspapers in Kuwait, you might have read about Al Rai Al Aam's Editor-in-Chief Jassim Boodai legal troubles. So what did he actually say? To find out, take a look at the video yourself, posted by q8direct-blogspot.com last February. The actual footage was aired first on C-Span 2 on 20-01-2006. It is must-see-tv. Some people thrive on controversy and want to appear as the champions of civil rights and liberties. However, many of these people fail miserably in the end.
  • Jassim Boodai responds in his newspaper
  • News of Boodai's legal troubles
  • AlShaeb's originally published article about Boodai which got its Editor-in-Chief Hamid Buyabis into legal trouble

nibaq..i searched c-span but wasn't much help. Lost interest in the whole thing after 5 minutes. The guy wants coverage and looking at jboodai he's getting it big time!

yazeed..Now that site is making one hell of a statement!! Why would someone take the time, and effort, to do this? I must admit it is a comprehensive site.

General..funny thing is that Boodai, in his Sunday opening in Al Rai Al Aaam claims that individuals posted the video online because they had it in for him. However, he fails to note that the original publisher was C-Span, a highly credible source! Unless C-Span have it in for him too! The thing that grabbed my attention is how this guy thinks that people are stupid. He says one thing in his newspaper in Arabic, and another in the video in English thinking it will never make it back to Kuwait in any way shape or form. If he had respect for people's intellect, he would have been more careful. It's his war to fight now. I don't find it interesting or worth the storm that is being unleashed right now in Kuwait.

yeah its his fight, and lets see how that will turn out
interesting that the website is organized, has videos in two different bit rates, arabic translation, and the fact that it was regiestered on april 28.
nice organzied work.

yazeed makufloos..the apology seems to do the job. I read somewhere the Amir called Boodai for a meeting. Interesting turn of events. Maybe just a pinch of the ears.

Sara..You're too low for me to respond to. "shit?" "sta7aw 3ala wayihkum?" No wonder you defend him ;)

casper..Its not a matter of truth or not. It's the approach! I mean to speak like that about sensitive issues and to who? Complete foreigners who represent the sole super-power? What is he trying to achieve by mocking the invasion? Or mocking burgan oilfield and the Emirate? He could have said what he did in a nice and understandable way. What he said reflects how he views himself and his country, which is really not something to be proud of in front of Americans and a camera rolling. The American delegation was more shocked at how Boodai was mocking his country than what he's saying. Finally, if he was convinced and that he was saying truth, he would not have apologized, betting that people's ignorance will prevail, and he will be forgiven. Cheap style.
